#13 BEFORE WE DELVE INTO THE CERVICAL SPINE

et’s pause to review a few basics. What does it take to have a healthy, fully functional spine?

Life Force (which can have other names including the “breath of God” or Innate Intelligence ) is solely a gift of God and is housed in the brain…beginning at conception, it continues until the instant of death (when the absence of brainwaves prove it has left us).

So similar to electricity, studies have shown it can be harnessed to perform “frivolous“ duties such as light a lightbulb. “Frivolous” because if we utilize the God-given energy for any purpose aside from supplying the body with its intended life force, it robs the organs and tissues awaiting that life giving energy which can result in disease or death.

That brings up the obvious question: “What else can cause disruption to this essential flow of life-giving energy to the body?” What can go wrong and how can the energy flow be disrupted?

Some would say we should begin by examining the birth process. Hospital deliveries may have come a long way from the days of routine forceps deliveries when the doctors actually grabbed hold of the infant’s neck and applied a pulling, twisting pressure to drag out first one shoulder and then the other from the birth canal. The very thought of that should make you cringe. Think about the baby. ALL infants are born with neck structure and muscles that are unable to fully bear the weight of the baby’s head. The process by which the necessary cervical curve and musculature develops takes months. It’s a long time before the child can sit upright and support his own head. Every parent is taught the importance of holding and supporting the baby’s head until that time. BUT….for some completely bizarre reason it was (and to some extent) is still an accepted part of the birth process to grab and forcefully pull the infant out.

AH…but wait, you may say, my child was born by Caesarian Section. Isn’t that much safer? NO! And considering that currently approximately 33% - or one out of every 3 babies is delivered by C-section, it’s important to understand why this can set the child up for a lifetime of problems. (This is also the place to add that even the WHO has testified that a maximum of only 10% of deliveries warrant a surgical procedure). With the C-section (because certainly no doctor wants to be accused of leaving a big scar) only a very small slice is made through the abdomen and uterine wall. From there the same insult happens - the infant is grabbed and yanked from the mother. Can you imagine what effect that alone has on the human spine? The trauma can be irreversible. Nothing of what occurs with a natural, vaginal delivery occurs - no squeezing through the birth canal happens (which modern science is just beginning to scratch the surface in understanding the benefits of this) and the infant never gets exposure to the natural, healthy, probiotics that would have been encountered when moving through the birth canal. Essentially no benefits gained by the infant or mother in many cases. All benefits solely solely for the doctor…financially and time wise. Just think about the motivation for the doctor to schedule a C-section. It means there is no more waiting for a possibly long, drawn out, natural delivery process. He can schedule his golf game knowing his routine will not be interrupted or inconvenienced.

AND have you investigated the cost difference between a C-section and a natural delivery? No more explanation is needed.

FURTHER…what about the position of the mother during delivery? Strapped on her back - feet in stirrups. Instead of gravity being used to her advantage (as it was with deliveries through the ages and is still today in many countries). The benefits of this are solely for the convenience of those doing the delivery.

But …what about the health and health habits of the mother prior to delivery? Doctors who defend the ever increasing C-sections are quick to point out that (at least here in the US) we are all getting sicker. It’s hardly fair to even pick on one disease or problem. We have poorer diets, little exercise, more obesity, more diabetes, more hypertension, more autism, more heart disease, more depression, more drug use both prescription and other….the list is endless. Are health problems for the infant beginning even before the added traumas of an unnatural birth?

Probably…but more important…what can be done?

THAT list is long…but one place to start is having your newborn baby checked for subluxations. Let’s make make sure that any correctable spinal damage happens as soon as possible.

And we will continue…
